CARE for the Cape Day: Thank you to our attendees and sponsors!

Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Route 28, Waquoit

Event Sponsors include Turtleback Ltd  (t-shirt sponsor) and (food sponsor)  Whole Foods Hyannis.

At our second annual CARE for the Cape Day, we invite you to spend the morning working on a number of tasks including trail clearing, weeding gardens, painting and cleaning the exhibit area at Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (WBNERR).  This spring clean up will provide the Reserve with much needed volunteer efforts after a tough winter, and prepare for the many students and adults who visit the WBNERR each year.

You’ll get to feel great as you give back and network with other local businesses, all while enjoying their incredible view! Experience firsthand a “voluntourism” type event that CARE can re-produce for your business or non-profit: for you to promote — as an extension of your business or as part of your philanthropic outreach to the wider Cape community.

During this half day event you will:

·       assist WBNERR to run cost-effectively through volunteerism

·       learn about this valuable attraction so that you may invite visitors and friends to experience

·       learn how you can integrate a conservation and heritage event into your business or non-profit

·       SPECIAL FEATURE: learn from Wampanoag Tribe members about the customs of building a “wetu” structure (a CARE for the Cape and Islands 2015 Project), witness and sample native Wampanoag cooking in action.
