The Linda Loring Nature Foundation (LLNF) is dedicated to preserving and protecting Nantucket’s biologically diverse ecosystems. The Foundation’s property, a living laboratory for research and education, advances broad community support for environmental understanding to respect the fragile habitats surrounding us.
LLNF works to promote environmental literacy through direct connections with nature through research, education, and stewardship. Our overall goal is to create a sense of place for our community which includes residents, visitors, and beyond.
This project supported the design, planning, purchase, and installation of a trail wayside exhibit to further the connections to nature for a diverse audience. This exhibit highlights the property’s fragile habitats, unique geological features, rare species, and other species of interest. The Linda Loring Nature Foundation property is located on the northwestern portion of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts. The Foundation owns 106.8 acres of permanently-protected conservation land at this site.
