This grant has funded the installation of an Elkay Next Generation Wall Mount Water Bottle Refilling Station
The water bottle fill station enhances sustainability by minimizing dependency on disposable plastic bottles. It is a complete ADA compliant cooler and bottle filling station. To further encourage the reduction of single use plastic, the Museum gift shop will be selling non-plastic one-time use water containers and refillable water containers.
The water station and an outdoor recycling container, also planned by the museum, will both promote eliminating single-use plastic bottles and appropriate recycling practice on the Museum’s campus by visitors (approximately 50,000), volunteers (over 300) and staff (50 including summer teaching staff).
